Markham. Go north
of Major Mackenzie
Drive and turn onto Dickson Road between 18th and 19th
Avenues. He is
buried in the Wideman family plot.
Captain
Ludovick (Ludwig) Wideman was born in Pennsylvania in 1781 and
settled in Upper Canada in 1801. He fought in the War of 1812, and in
1837 he
was one among many of the loyal supporters of William Lyon Mackenzie
with
military experience. He was among those killed in the Battle of
Montgomery’s
Tavern in 1837.
